The Newmarket Heights association was formed in October 1991
The objectives of the association are:
To encourage good municipal government in the town.
To improve the environmental living condituons for all the residents.
To promote the interests of the residents in our community.

To promote a safe community through community safety programs

About Newmarket Heights
The Heights is in the southern half of ward Four. In the 2006 census the Heights was home to 5,000 people and consisted of 1,530 households.The community was built in 1958 to house the aircraft engineers and workers who were building the Avro Arrow, Canada's supersonic fighter bomber. After the Canadian governent scrapped the Avro Arrow most of the engineers and staff left Newmarket to work in the United States where they helped NASA land a man on the moon. Those who remained built the Canadarm for the Space Shuttle.
